Olivia, Assistant HR Business Partner

I’m the Assistant HR Business Partner within our Plumbing & Heating Division.

I didn’t go to university, because I wasn’t quite sure about what I wanted to do, so I worked as a Customer Service Advisor for my local council for nine months, which gave me a great insight into the world of work, improved my self-confidence and definitely gave me some good skills going forwards. By the end of my contract, I decided that I wanted to go into HR, so I self-funded by CIPD Level 3 and started applying for roles. I applied for the role here in the P&H division at Travis Perkins, and I’ve not looked back since.

I love my job, because no day is the same and every day presents new challenges, which is always exciting and means that I’m always learning. I also work in a great time with great people that I have learnt a lot from, which is great for my development: for me, a good day at work is all about being able to make a positive difference within the business.
