Assistant Inventory Systems Manager/Stock Manager

We, at BSS are going through an exciting period of technological change, and we will be the first

business in the Travis Perkins Group to transfer to the Infor M3 platform, that will revolutionise the

service we provide to our customers, but also make a substantial difference to the lives of our

colleagues. We are looking for a Assistant Inventory Policies Manager to join our lively Supply Chain

team in Lutterworth, reporting into our Inventory Manager. In this role you will be supporting and

taking ownership of managing both system parameters and helping to develop best practice. Your

aim will be to support first class product supply to BSS branches through our National

Distribution Centres and suppliers.


Initially you will work closely with our Momentum Systems Team to gain vital knowledge before we go

live, understanding the key triggers and elements of the system and becoming our local system

expert while supporting BSS with the pre work. The main focus of the role will then be the

management of inventory parameters and settings within the M3 solution (MRP & forecasting).

Working as part of the Inventory Management Team, you will be maximising availability, minimising

overstocks and supporting the flow of products through the network (suppliers, national distribution

centres & branches).


Alongside the above you will also be responsible for:


● Recommending parameter changes to key stakeholders and obtaining sign off before

implementation.

● Ensuring that the business unit delivers best practice and a consistent approach to

forecasting and seasonal stock management whilst complying with replenishment system

processes.

● Working with Product Supply, Commercial and suppliers on new product introductions and

subsequent exit of legacy products.

● The recommendation of configuration changes to support optimisation of replenishment

processes.


It would be great if you had:

● Strong planning/inventory management track record

● Experience of using an Advanced Forecasting & Planning System (MRP or ERP system)

● Knowledge of replenishment systems
