Bid and Marketing Manager 

Full Time (Permanent ) 
Location - Crick, Northamptonshire

Our Plumbing and Heating Division of Travis Perkins plc are going through a really exciting period of growth and transformation and as such we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Bid and Marketing Manager!  

The successful applicant will be responsible for the submission of bids for new Public Sector contract opportunities and re-tenders and the management of the marketing relating to this.  Commercial accumen is a must, in order to ensure the correct commercial decisions are made regarding all tenders and multi product opportunities  which include,  Plumbing and Heating, Gas Spares, Electrical and Renewable technologies. 

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Agreeing and delivering a winning commercial strategy within any bid.
  • Developing and managing the delivery of an effective marketing programme in line with budgets,  including social responsibility allowances and other marketing activity.
  • Total responsibility for ensuring full completion of all tenders to be returned either through OJEU or a framework developing working relationships with clients and the P&H team.
  • Developing bid strategies for Public Sector contract tenders to include both new & re-tenders.
  • Responsibility for all sector related communication such and content for Intranet, PR, Marketing (Exhibitions) and conferences
  • Developing the skills and professionalism of the Bid & Marketing Team
  • Continually improve bid processes and marketing campaigns.

What we are looking for.
  • An APMP accredited or similar bid writing qualification.
  • The ability to be strategic  and highly proactive.
  • Sound commercial awareness developed through B2B exposure (Essential).
  • Previous experience writing or managing submissions through design and production stages.
  • Excellent Communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals.
  • Superior organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Previous experience of managing a team and developing bid management skills e.g. bid writing.
  • Legal, property, financial marketing, sales awareness.
