Commercial Category Analyst £Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits Are you looking to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment where you can make a real difference? We at Travis Perkins are looking for a Commercial Category Analyst with proven commercial experience who is really passionate about what they do.
Working in a central team, this role provides great insight into all of the businesses across the Group. You will play an important role in supporting the Group’s commercial performance through delivery of a profit improvement programme. This includes analysis of category performance, market dynamics and supplier performance. Ultimately, you’ll be making a real difference in finding profit opportunities.
You will also play a key role in bringing our businesses together by actively supporting collaboration so we can improve our product sourcing, customer proposition and category profitability.
You’ll be responsible for:
Identifying and undertaking incisive analysis of the market and industry data, in conjunction with Category teams, to highlight industry trends, market dynamics and TP’s position within.
Analysing category data across the Group to model profit benefits through identifying areas to probe and developing the appropriate analytical approach.
Provide preliminary findings and/or recommendations to Project Managers and Category teams.
Undertake financial modelling of the different negotiation scenarios during each phase of the negotiation process, to identify further negotiation levers.
Track the commercial impact of the project post the completion of the negotiations.
Attending key meetings with Business Units to explain the approach, analysis and key recommendations, influencing the strategy
Providing clear and thorough presentations for communicating project savings and negotiation strategies to senior stakeholders
Develop and produce ‘best in class’ templates and models for use within the team and across the commercial function
Own and manage regular reporting for use in commercial e.g. commodity and currency data
Manage and evolve tracking documents to provide accurate data for use within and outside the team.
What do I need to have?
You will be educated to degree level and have proven experience in either a buying, commercial or commercial finance function combined with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. You’ll also need to be confident at communicating with key stakeholders and influence across different levels of the business.
