Commercial Analyst

Chorley- Lancashire

Permanent -Full time


Are you looking to kick start your commercial career within a growing business? Do you have strong communication skills and an affinity with data? If so, then we have a great opportunity within our Commercial team, supporting the Plumbing and Heating division of Travis Perkins Group.

Within the role, you will provide vital administrative and organisational support to the commercial management team and will work closely with category and marketing colleagues to support supplier promotions.  

This is an exciting role touching all areas of our commercial operation, it is intended that this role will be a development role leading towards a career in a fast paced commercial environment.  Previous work experience may not be necessary providing you have the underlying skills sets that we are looking for.

Main Duties:

  • Set up new suppliers and products on the computer systems, including pricing, along with on-going maintenance

  • Act as 1st line help/support desk for Branch product and pricing enquiries

  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with key internal contacts and suppliers

  • Produce one-off reports for internal and external use as well as monthly/weekly reports as required

  • Update price guides for the business unit and various supplier promotions.

  • Proof checking of the various Product and Price Guide publications as well providing support with monthly promotions

  • Work on various projects when required within a given brief

  • Use knowledge of systems and procedure to enable efficient admin processes via the wider team and has the ability to “data mine” to provide effective analysis on category performance

It would be great if the successful candidate:

  • Ability to use and develop spreadsheets

  • Prove that they are numerate

  • Ability to write communications and have competent computer skills for Microsoft Office Excel

  • Google Sheet experience

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to interpret figures
