We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to sit within our Group Data function at Lodge Way House Northampton.

Responsible for investigating the quality of data held on Travis Perkins Legacy systems, generating and developing reporting, dashboard and process improvements, to address data challenges,.  Working with key business areas to understand their challenges and establish or refine data sources and reporting to deliver optimum performance and usability of solutions. 

What you'll do
  • Analyse legacy applications to expose data that is not of sufficient quality or structure. Coordinate the remediation, working collaboratively with the business unit to define the data enhancements and identify the source and target systems.
  • Analyse business processes around data, creating recommendations for improvement and working with the wider data team to implement improvements.
  • Designing, developing and testing fully automated reports and dashboards solutions using best practice methods, avoiding hard coding and duplication of effort establishing process automation where applicable. 
  • Designing, developing and testing new reports and dashboards ensuring optimum usability and performance using Tableau, Google sheets, Google Data Studio, and other corporate approved BI tools. 
  • Use monitoring to perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity of output and KPIs. Proactively conducting root cause analysis and leading the follow up conclusions, then communicating and sharing best practice within the team.
  • Producing high quality visual analysis including trends, key facts, linking data sets together to identify business operational performance, compliance, utilisation or efficiency savings, ensuring reports are fit for purpose, meet the users needs by completing technical and business UAT, contain user facing glossaries and achieve reporting service level agreements. 
  • Follow work instructions to produce/update business as usual (BAU) reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis and address feedback/questions and perform root cause analysis where required.
  • Where capabilities in the approved tools and technologies fall short, the candidate will research and investigate industry best practice, keep abreast of product developments, and continue to push boundaries to find workarounds and continuous improvement opportunities that will streamline the reporting development cycle. 

Ideally you'll have
  • Relevant professional experience in Data Analytics, Data Quality or Data Cleansing role
  • Experience within Sql Server, Tableau, Qlik, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel
  • Process improvement experience
