Job Description

As an Enterprise Architect in Travis Perkins, you are responsible for the effectiveness, integration and optimisation of the architecture layers within the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA), creating future state architectural visions that support the IT strategy and increase the maturity of the EA, assessing emerging technologies for their architectural fit, and driving standardisation where necessary and possible.

In this role you will be

  • Partnering with stakeholders at all levels across the business and IT to elicit, lead and influence strategy discussions, owning the architectural vision and strategic capabilities for your area of specialisation, leading to the production of roadmaps that summarise the required technical and business changes needed to enable the business strategy, and acting as the voice of authority for this area.

  • Translating the strategic roadmap into a project pipeline, collaborating with business stakeholders, Programme Managers, Programme Management Office, Enterprise and Solution Architects to identify, prioritise and outline specific technology investments to be delivered.

  • Maintaining and submitting the proposed IT Roadmaps for approval at the relevant governance board, leading the associated standardisation efforts and setting the direction for delivery within the IT department.

  • Providing expert guidance and analysis of business impact of potential changes, solution options, feasibility, and recommendations for future state architecture, taking a holistic view considering both enterprise-wide and broader ecosystem impacts to people, process, commercial and strategy alongside technology.

It would be great if you had...

  • Solid experience working at a senior level within an architecture team and working Enterprise Architecture roles within large enterprises with proven success at an Enterprise level

  • Senior level stakeholder management

  • Experience working in a matrix structure organisation

  • Lead and provide direction to other architects working on solutions that leverage the Enterprise Architecture

  • Outstanding strategic skills to propose long-term visions and the ability to translate them into actionable roadmaps that are broadly accepted

  • Experience of working with Cloud technologies is key, AWS would be beneficial but not essential.
