A little about the role…


We are currently looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team. A finance analyst supports the commercial function and the rest of the Commercial Finance team with financial analysis, reporting and ad-hoc financial support.  


The commercial finance team provide support to the commercial, merchandising and supply chain teams in the Wickes head office, as well as liaising closely with the wider Wickes Finance team.


This role is predominantly focused on supporting the trade planning and kitchen and bathroom teams within the commercial department, analysing promotional performance and supporting in decision making.


This role will be eligible for training and exam support for qualification with any of the major accounting bodies (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW / ICAS).


Principle Accountabilities…


  • Reporting - variety of daily, weekly and monthly financial reports for the commercial function

  • Management accounts - support to the Senior Finance Manager in producing the Commercial section of the Wickes Management Accounts

  • Budgeting and forecasting - support in the phasing of the sales and margin budgets for the kitchen and bathroom categories

  • Analysis of promotions, helping to understand which promotion metrics were most successful, by carrying out suitable analysis and providing relevant insight

  • Financial system data maintenance and uploads

  • Financial analysis for major business initiatives where relevant

  • Ad-hoc financial analysis as required


What we are looking for in you?


  • A-Level science or mathematics based subjects

  • High level of Organisation / prioritisation skills

  • Ability to communicate with different stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Hard working and a  Fast learner

  • Enthusiastic & Inquisitive
