The role:

To support and challenge the decisions made by the Distribution Function by partnering and providing thorough and robust interpretation and analysis of commercial and financial data.  The key is to provide support and challenge the Distribution function in understanding and managing costs and drive actions from the analytics. The role will also include input to, and oversight of, related projects; support of the Wickes Central Finance Team; assisting external and internal Audit as required.

What we are looking for:

An established CIMA / ACCA qualified Finance Manager with a string background of partnering with your stakeholders. You will be an effective and inspiring leader to your team and have a proven track record within a comparable Finance background

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for all data and analytics, working alongside the Distribution Management team and linking into the central finance team, with the focus being cost management and identifying KPI performance and cost improvements.

  • Drive, maintain and enhance the existing cooperative and supportive Business Partnership with Distribution Senior ManagementSupply of bridges/commentary to Commercial Finance Manager at month end and for forecasts & budgets.

  • Support, challenge and develop Distribution Finance team and build relationships with Wickes Central Functions

  • Review and ownership of Distribution Balance sheets, ensuring fully reconciled and risks and opportunities highlighted in a timely manner

What We’re Looking For

  • CIMA/ACCA finalist

  • Traditional management accounting duties. Generating P&Ls, balance sheet recs etc

  • High competency in Excel and other desktop applications

  • Able to prioritise own workload, working to deadlines and demonstrate a strong a sense of ownership

  • Confident self-starter with ability to problem solve

  • Must be mobile to travel between office locations

  • Team worker, prepared to pitch in and assist other Distribution Finance colleagues if necessary

  • Experience in process mapping and process improvement
