The role: Finance Manager

To support and challenge the decisions made by the Operations Function by partnering and providing thorough and robust interpretation and analysis of commercial and financial data.  The key is to provide support and challenge the function in understanding and managing costs and drive actions from the analytics. The role will also include input to, and oversight of, related projects; support of the Wickes Central Finance Team; assisting external and internal Audit as required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Working with managers in the Property and Refits team on capital investment appraisals to ensure that the best returns are put forward for board approval
  • Assisting managers with post investment reviews to ensure that expected benefits are being realised.
  • Proactively working with managers, particularly the members of the Operations team, to improve knowledge , drive greater operational efficiency, and increase profitability
  • Conducting monthly reviews of financial results with management to ensure that they are accurate, and identify any potential risks or opportunities. To include overseeing the month end and balance sheet reconciliation. processes
  • Responsible for all budgeting & forecasting of variable costs and other property development costs
  • Managing  and developing one finance analyst
  • Providing insightful reporting to help shape and deliver strategies of the wider business.

An established CIMA / ACCA qualified Finance Manager with a strong background of partnering with your stakeholders. You will be an effective and inspiring leader to your team and have a proven track record within a comparable Finance background
