We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Insurance Business Partner to join our Legal Team here at Travis Perkins to be the interface between our businesses and our program of Insurance and Risk. This role will be divided between across all General Liability and Property & Motor claims.

We are looking for an ambitious and professional Insurance Business Partner to manage a broad range of senior stakeholders, including the Plc Broker, Underwriters, the Directors and the Heads of Safety.

The successful candidate will be an expert in their insurance and risk area, and will partner with the business in providing advice, guidance, claims administration and data analysis.  A key responsibility within this role will be to identify areas of risk and trends and act as an influencer with stakeholders to shape strategy, at a Plc and divisional level.

This role will give the individual full autonomy and accountability in their area and provide them with the opportunity to utilise their experience to shape the business.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Be accountable for all claims across the group.

  • Build relationships with external support such as solicitors.  You are responsible for inbound traffic, dealing with claim management including assessment of value, assisting and challenging external advisers, directing or advising the business, conducting regular performance reviews and highlighting and resolving issues.

  • Receive and collate data and run reports. Ensuring the Solicitor data is reviewed.

  • Being the 'go to' person for the business and promoting your profile by being visible.

  • Providing efficient and correct advice.

  • Assist with renewal, collating and submit information from your area of the business.

  • Support in devising and implementing IT and Insurance procedures - our internal processes are always evolving so you will need to embrace and promote change.

  • Own the relationship with the Stay Safe team - activities such as attending regular team meetings, identifying and highlighting positive and challenging behaviours, assessment of data including interpretation and problem solving with subsequent message delivery to key stakeholders, explaining the insurance and risk program.

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with our broker, taking full accountability for the business area, including regular calls and meetings to ensure adequate support and resolution of issues, along with an exploration of new products.

  • Share responsibility for Insurance inbox  

  • Provide support to the wider team.

It would be great if you had…

  • Legal and/or Insurance recognised qualification in a relevant field, or part qualified and currently studying towards a recognised qualification.

  • Proven experience within a Legal and/or insurance environment such as a claims department.

  • Be able to demonstrate working examples of assessing liability/quantum and a thorough understanding of claims/legal process.

  • Ability to draft correspondence/pleadings.

  • A 'can do' and proactive attitude, taking complete ownership of your responsibilities.

  • Have a creative approach and embrace change

  • The ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships

  • Be enthusiastic, challenging and inquisitive about our culture, processes, risk and insurance.
