We are now recruiting a Marketing Assistant for our new and exciting ”Showroom team” within our marketing function. The role is based in our Support Centre in Watford.
The role is to assist in the day-to-day delivery of the PR & Social Media strategy; together with other interesting projects, working alongside our talented agencies.
“Showroom” is the name for our fast-growing, designed and installed, kitchen and bathroom business, with over £300m sales value.

What are your Principal Accountabilities?
As a Marketing assistant the three main areas you will be responsible for are:
Social
Inspire our customers through engaging and helpful content targeted to customers considering home improvement projects
Network with key internal stakeholders to uncover newsworthy opportunities which can be communicated through our social channels.
Responsible for the social media calendar and the approval, monitoring and reviewing across our social channels (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Houzz)
Ensure our partnership activity with Absolute Radio and Talksport are always on the Wickes plan
PR
To manage all PR campaigns through our owned channels and generate maximum awareness and positive sentiment for Wickes. This is across all areas of our business; Showroom, Core DIY and Trade
Drive the performance of weekly press office, working with the agency to identify product stories and promotions that deliver regular coverage in line with agreed KPIs
Working with internal stakeholders to identify key products and category promotions, briefing the agency within agreed timelines to ensure we hit press deadlines and meet coverage opportunities
First contact in the reactive press office process, including preparing statements with the support of the PR agency, working with the manager to oversee any reputation issues and/or crisis through to their conclusion
Projects
To work with our large network of trusted installers to raise awareness of this differentiating and successful service amongst customers that are considering a new kitchen or bathroom
Help the marketing manager co-ordinate our powerful offers across all the different channels
Once established, support the Showroom team in the coordination of the monthly sales programme - This role is to manage the monthly sales pack which contains all the marketing activities to support each sale, chair the weekly cross department meetings and follow up with information and actions
