What you'll do

This is an exciting new role. And a huge opportunity. You won’t just lead sales in our high
turnover stores. You’ll boost income by constantly evolving our internal and external store
proposition. You’ll launch new initiatives that make the most of our customer relationships. And
you’ll take the best innovations from our highest performing stores, then share and implement
them right across the business. Most of all, you’ll lead, influence and create a culture that puts the customer first, throughout Toolstation.
With your strategic thinking, operational awareness and ability to drive continuous improvement, it’s a role you can really make your own. 
Day to day
 
Improving performance. Constantly inspire stores to retain and develop customers. By building
strong internal and external relationships. By developing innovative propositions and sales
initiatives. And by continually reviewing processes and services. All to boost store contributions,
while minimising costs.

Inspiring customer focus. Put the customer first in every decision. And motivate every store
team to do the same. That means listening to customer needs. Understanding different markets.
Supporting local communities. And making it your business to make sure every customer enjoys
a great Toolstation experience.

Operational excellence. Encourage clear, regular reporting. Work closely with store, regional,
head office and field-based teams. And keep up with the latest innovations and their potential
benefits. So you inspire stores to exceed sales targets.

Commercial drive. Constantly build your knowledge of market trends and the changing
economic climate. Keep a close eye on our competitors. And monitor store performance to drive
continuous improvement and address any issues quickly.



What you'll bring

Proven commercial leadership. Build on your strong record of improving performance and
driving profit in a target-driven role. How? By using your commercial nous to do what’s right for
our customers and influencing and managing remote teams to achieve it.

Brilliant communication. Be a motivational communicator who inspires customers,
stakeholders and store teams alike to share your vision and achieve your priorities. And build
lasting relationships that deliver benefits for both customers and the business.

Strategic thinking. Be a visionary with the ability to identify and drive strategic change. Use your
analytical approach to appreciate the potential results of your actions and develop plans that
deliver real competitive advantage.

Focus on customers. Act as the customer’s champion. Gain their trust, understand what makes
them tick and get their feedback. So you can shape effective strategies that meet their needs.

Relationship building. Understand the importance of building strategic relationships inside and
outside Toolstation. So you can influence change, make the most of business opportunities and
meet the needs of your teams and our customers.

Resilient leadership. Stay positive under pressure, with the ability to switch your focus to meet
changing priorities. As a coach and mentor, inspire trust so teams follow your lead to meet the
biggest challenges.
 
Respecting individuality. Create a team ethic where everyone feels welcome. Because you
understand that the best solutions come when people with different ideas and perspectives work
together.

Act effectively. Be an active decision-maker, turning complex strategies into meaningful plans to
make the most of commercial opportunities. By thinking smart and acting smarter, you identify

You will need a minimum of 5 years operational multi-site leadership experience to apply for this role.
