Property Management Assistant 

Location: Harvey Reeves Rd, Northampton, NN5 5JR

Hours: 40 per week, working Monday to Friday

Perm/Full time


Due to our continued success we are seeking an experienced Property Management Assistant to join our Property Management team at Travis Perkins Plumbing and Heating division based at our newly renovated offices in Northampton, NN5 5JR.


Experience within this sector is desirable (but not essential) and will come at an advantage as this role is newly created, its ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced and challenging environment. Attractive to someone who is looking to take on greater responsibility. You will need to display a varied range of skills, be highly organised, self-motivated with the ability of working independently as well as part of a team. 


In this role you will provide technical and administrative support for all  Property Management activities across the Property estate/sector within our P&H division, as well as direct admin support to the Property Director and Regional Surveyors.


Key Responsibilities;


Be responsible for general estate management including; checking lease terms/obligations, planning enquiries, completing/managing tenancies at will, arranging inspections, organise board approval meetings, distribute agenda & minute taking where appropriate.

Review, validation and audit of service charge invoices/budgets and insurance charges.

Be accountable to the Regional Surveyors (RS) for providing proactive and timely support with Landlord & Tenant work,  including read & interpret legal documents liaising with legal advisors on any notices, obtaining comparables, confirming instructions with agents/building surveyors & solicitors (providing copy leases etc), arrange for legal documents to be signed.

Provide the Regional Surveyors and Property Director with key information eg competitor maps and database, land registry plans (Promap), maintaining key property information used by the business, ensuring all schedules used by the team are kept up to date, obtaining/updating demographic data.

Act as the primary contact within the P&H Property team in relation to coding and process invoices, liaising with the finance/accounts team including raising requests for capital expenditure and urgent payments etc, keeping track of costs v budget.

Provide general admin support to the Property Director and Regional Surveyors, including diary management & organise meetings (subsidiary role to that of assisting RS’s on general property matters).

Accountable to the Regional Surveyors (RS) for developing and maintaining network of contacts amongst commercial property agents, planning consultants, solicitors and building surveying consultants.

Responsible for administering & maintaining accurate rating records, as directed by the Regional Surveyors (RS).

It would be great if you had;


Previous experience within the Property Management sector, with some working knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, and commercial property rental values with an understanding or experience of service charge reconciliation. Therefore, to thrive in this role, would be an advantage if you came from either working in-house, or the public / private sectors but not essential. You must demonstrate strong administration skills, prioritise work and provide excellent admin support to your key stakeholders both internal and external.
