What you'll do
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to join Toolstation on a 12 month fixed term contract, a great way to join our business.
A pivotal role within the Toolstation Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of a variety of the team’s activities as well as team management of a Personal Assistant. We’ll also rely on you to lead the strategy and business planning cycle in partnership with the Managing Director. A great opportunity to add value by taking a proactive, detailed, planned and forward-thinking approach, it’s a truly varied role too – one that demands the ability to develop close working relationships with the SLT, as well as senior stakeholders and colleagues at all levels across the business. In short, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for both personal and career development.
Day-to-day
Supporting. Providing support to the Managing Director primarily, as well as the other members of the SLT.
Taking the lead. Leading the agenda, planning and facilitation of SLT meetings and collating and organising data and packs for the stakeholders you support.
Organising. Prioritising the requests and agendas of the Managing Director, clearly differentiating between work that is important versus what is urgent.
Team work. Working closely with cross functional stakeholders and coordinating the head office business wide induction ensuring all of our support function colleagues are welcomed and set up for success no matter where they work and how they work - be it in our offices or from home.
Collaborating. Working with the Managing Director on all aspects of their role - expenses, invoices, external and internal engagements, communications, presentations and interactions with the Board, customers, suppliers and partners.
What you'll bring
Communication. You have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build relationships and work with a variety of stakeholders.
An eye for detail. You have strong attention to detail and accuracy and a broad understanding of business planning and budget cycles.
Organisational skills. You’re well-organised, with expert diary management skills, a flair for planning and a focus on maximising time and ease.
The ability to work under pressure. You’re great at managing shifting priorities and working to tight deadlines.
Team player. You enjoy getting involved in wider business priorities and projects helping us to develop our fantastic business and culture.
What you'll get
The story so far. We’re one of Britain’s fastest growing multi-channel retailers of tools, accessories and building supplies. Backed by Travis Perkins plc, our freedom to operate as a nimble, entrepreneurial business means we’re now well established and have even bigger plans. The trade, home improvers and self-builders all trust us to deliver a lot more than tools. So, our colleagues in our Head Office and Contact Centre in Bridgwater, at our Distribution Centres in Bridgwater, Middleton, Redditch and Daventry, and in our network of over 500 branches throughout the UK, work together to get the job done. And with plans to open another 60 branches next year, we always have opportunities for great people who want to grow with us.
