We are looking to recruit a Sales Ledger Assistant as part of our Sales Ledger department based in Birmingham . You will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debt and minimise outstanding debt.
Your responsibilities will include:
Open all incoming mail. Scan, post cheques and BACS payments to the Sales Ledger and prepare cheques for Banking using the K8 system.
Process and bank all cheques and BACS payments on the day of receipt to the agreed time tables.
Allocate payments against invoices as customer request.
Maintain the accuracy of the ledger.
Reduce unallocated cash in line with set targets and within the agreed timescales.
Ensure error rate and queries are kept to a minimum.
Liaise with Credit Control Department / branches in order to resolve allocation queries
Enter and maintain accurate notes against customer accounts as necessary.
To be considered you’ll need to have
A keen eye for detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills and be able organise and plan your workload.
Able to prioritise and work on own initiative
