Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a challenging, yet rewarding environment? Would you be interested in joining our dynamic Sales Ledger team? 

We are looking to recruit a Sales Ledger Assistant as part of our Sales Ledger department based in Birmingham . You will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debt and minimise outstanding debt. 

Your responsibilities will include:

- Open all incoming mail.  Scan, post cheques and BACS payments to the Sales Ledger and prepare cheques for Banking using the K8 system.

 - Process and bank all cheques and BACS payments on the day of receipt to the agreed time tables.

- Allocate payments against invoices as customer request.

- Maintain the accuracy of the ledger.

- Reduce unallocated cash in line with set targets and within the agreed timescales.

- Ensure error rate and queries are kept to a minimum.

- Liaise with Credit Control Department / branches in order to resolve allocation queries

- Enter and maintain accurate notes against customer accounts as necessary.

To be considered you’ll need to have

- A keen eye for detail and accuracy

- Excellent communication skills and be able organise and plan your workload.

- Able to prioritise and work on own initiative
