Senior Account Manager- Midlands based with National travel

Travis Perkins plc are currently recruiting a Senior Account Manager to Join our Plumbing and Heating Divisions and share our success within a hard-working and friendly environment. The role covers the Midlands but National travel will be required.



PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES




Maintain and develop relationships with an allocated ledger of customers and new customers whilst taking full ownership of those customers and operating at all levels including board level down ensuring that all key touchpoints and potential within that customer are maximise.

Create and continually develop an ‘Account Development Plan' for each customer that clearly maps out a development strategy. This should contain both short and long-term goals with agreed measures and milestones.

Continually evaluate the performance of each account vs their available spend in order to maximise our share of wallet.

Achieve the revenue and profit targets as defined in each customer's 'Account Development Plan', all of which will be linked directly to AOP

Identify additional revenue opportunities within the allocated customer list and within the wider market to hunt new opportunities to grow the business

Negotiate, follow up on and report back to the business on each available tender or order to place from each customer on the leger. Add Value by offering Value engineering and Specification.

Where applicable, create customer rebate deals that either maintain or help grow profitable sales

Take ownership of ledger accounts and new accounts from quotation, to quote follow up, to payment and creating customer rebate proposals to help maintain or grow sales whilst working with the regional trading hub teams and branches to deliver success

Ensure that all relevant customers have an up-to-date service level agreement (SLA) that clearly maps out their expectations and defines how the business will respond to these, again forming part of the business review meetings.

Take responsibility for the resolution of any problems. Foster improvement in processes and innovation.

Grow relationships with Main Contractors and National M & E Contractors with the ultimate goal of gaining Framework/Supply Chain status working closely with our preferred manufacturers.




It would be great if you had..


Proven sales experience and previous experience working in a Key Account or Business Development role


Previous technical  knowledge of plumbing and heating, bathrooms, showrooms, spares, electrical and renewables would be advantageous. 


Excellent communication , listening and negotiation skills


Able to deliver professional and effective  presentations


Able to collate and analyse data


Has sound commercial knowledge and able to make profitable business decisions


Has a strong customer focus and results orientated


Has a positive attitude, organised and self motivated


Can work to personal and operational targets
