What you'll do

As our End User Technology Lead you'll be responsible for the overall management of digital and IT services that Toolstation owns and from 3rd parties, provided to its end users, whether as Toolstation colleagues or customers. You will manage, support and develop the Engineering team whilst overseeing the development and implementation of new services, and the maintenance of existing services. You will ensure knowledge is shared and retained within the organisation to enable the team to critically evaluate the service provided and ensure a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the service that is delivered meets business needs and priorities, which enables the achievement of business and functional objectives.
 
 
Day to Day
 
Manage. You'll manage resources internally to facilitate new and in-flight IT services, using established project management techniques. You'll produce and take the lead on reporting, including data and statistics to facilitate effective service monitoring and performance.
 
Assist and Assess. Assist in defining service models, and in assessing the impact of new services or changes to existing services. You'll also assist users with IT related incidents, problems and requests when necessary.
 
Represent. You'll represent IT services across the organisation.
 
Problem solving. Identify and evaluate problems and possible causes to determine root causes and impacts. You'll thoroughly research issues and use sound judgement to develop and implement solutions. You'll use your expertise in policies and procedures to make recommendations for addressing these.
 
Data. Accurately record, update and document incidents, requests and changes to services using tools such as the IT Service Desk system, Configuration Management Database and Knowledge Bases.
  
Identify. Identify opportunities for continual service improvement, and execute plans to improve.


What you'll bring

Knowledge. Knowledge of computer hardware, various vendor OS including Google Chrome OS, Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS. With also knowledge and understanding of ITSM and ITIL processes and principles.
 
Experience. You may have previously or currently work in IT operations or a senior support role. 
 
Communication. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities.
 
Teamwork and collaboration. Developing & maintaining strong relationships across the business. Recognising the areas that need support across different business areas in order to drive success.
