Tax & Treasury Manager

Location: Crick

We have an exciting opportunity to join us as an Accountant based out of our P&H Head Office in Crick. Reporting into the Chief Accountant, this is a critical position within the Plumbing and Heating Financial Planning and Control team accountable for tax and treasury activities of the Plumbing & Heating businesses. You’ll ensure that Tax legislation is appropriately complied with and sufficient funding is available in accordance with the policies and risk appetite set by the Senior Leadership Team.

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Accountable for the Division’s UK and Irish corporation tax compliance cycle, which are prepared in house, including iXBRL submissions and relevant tax claims and elections. Forecasting the Division’s effective tax rate and UK corporation tax payments.

- Accountable for managing the Division's other tax compliance responsibilities, such as the Division’s VAT returns cycle, CIS, Intrastat and Income tax returns, liaising with other areas of finance as necessary.

- Accountable for ensuring that the tax accounting for the consolidated division and individual statutory entities, including all tax disclosures for current tax and deferred tax, are prepared in line with applicable standards.

- Cash flow forecasting (short and long-term). Improve cash flow modelling capabilities, maintaining links with the FP&A team and setting cash flow targets for each business, ensuring correct cash cut off. Manage day-to-day treasury operations - transaction banking / foreign exchange transactions / deposits and drawdowns / branch cash confirmation. Ensure compliance with the requirements of finance agreements.

- Improving the Division’s tax and treasury policies, processes and control environments and implementing recommendations for improvement from internal and external auditors. Work with other parts of the business to introduce improvements to the Division’s information and processes used to ensure tax compliance.

- Tax and Treasury reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and ensuring that the Division is aware of changes to tax legislation.

- Maintaining the relationship with the Division’s tax and treasury auditors, where applicable.

- Ad hoc projects as required e.g. working on cross department projects such as ensuring compliance with the Criminal Corporate Act.


What do I need to have?

You’ll need to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation whilst having proven and in depth experience of Tax within an accounting firm. Furthermore, you’ll be required to have a sound understanding of Tax legislation, Tax compliance, tax practices, policies, methodologies & other accounting for tax related matters.
