Transport Analyst

Travis Perkins Plc have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Analyst within our Transport Department. Working under the supervision of the Transport Development and Planning Manager, you will own strategic project design and carry out the required modelling work.  This role will allow the department to support the business fully with requests for analysis and transport modelling over the coming years.

The role we're recruiting for will:

• Take ownership of strategic scenario transport modelling projects within the business. Assess priority, requirements and suitable techniques that can realise the business objectives

• Be fully converse and undertake strategic transport modelling work using software systems that the business has invested in including CAST, DiPS and Maptitude to analyse and express various strategic options available to the Group

• Prioritise projects on strategic importance, business benefit and turnaround time to ensure that a balance is met across all stakeholders within the Group

• Ensure that a wide breadth of business unit strategies are understood to reduce overlap and streamline the progression of the Group strategy

• Develop and support the reporting function of implemented projects to ease communications to branch colleagues and ensure consistency and value of messages

• Present to stakeholders and branch management the merits and benefits of modelling work undertaken

It would be great if you:

Are educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of working within a logistics environment, transport planning operation, strategic 3PL, construction and able to use merchanting transport planning software.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Transport legislation, Data analysis skills, Transport solution design, KPI Report writing together with:

• Excellent communication skills at all levels (internal and external), verbally and written, with the ability to influence and motivate others

• The ability to manage multiple projects at the same time ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget

• Plan, organise and prioritise your workload within this fast paced environment

• Be self motivated, confident and enthusiastic with a personal drive to achieve set standards and to achieve deadlines together with the ability to work alone as well as within a team

• Flexibility - due to the nature of this role, travel will be needed and therefore a current full driving licence is required
