Job Description

Working for Wickes as a Transport Supervisor you'll be key in driving performance improvements within our Home Delivery Centre Transport Operations Team. You’ll also be responsible for the preparation and delivery of training across distribution functions and project work, sharing a best practice approach.

This role within Wickes is essential - this means the potential is high, as is the opportunity for growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain a safe working culture
  • Develop and maintain engaged culture across the Kitchen and Bathroom distribution, by ensuring colleague involvement in projects and promoting individual development to deliver leading edge customer satisfaction and >99.9% OTIF performance
  • Design and deliver fleet and compliance training and workshops in conjunction with the Operations Managers across all outbase locations. This will include practical training such as company inductions, vehicle familiarisation, systems and legal compliance, and the creation of appropriate training materials
  • Drive performance against completing plan vs actual on route planning both pre and post delivery, maximising and managing driver hours in line with RTD and KPL performance
  • Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures, and that company policies are communicated, applied and embedded across all sites within role remit
  • Maintain a compliant transport operation in line with EU and RTD Regulations

What we're looking for:

  • National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport
  • Cat C HGV Licence
  • Previous experience in a transport/distribution line manager role
  • IT Literate  (Microsoft Office/Google) Intermediate
  • Comfortable in building an engaged and a high performing culture
  • Transport planning together with fleet and compliance management experience
  • Continuous Improvement and lean management experience
  • Managing change and project management experience
  • Working knowledge of Transport law including EU drivers hours and RTD and Health and Safety
