Assistant Branch Manager – Stowmarket

We’re the UK’s largest builders’ merchant, but our Stowmarket branch feels like a tight-knit local business. If you’ve got a background in the trade and know the Stowmarket area, we want to talk to you.

The Day-to-Day:

You’ll be the right-hand person to the Branch Manager, helping lead a solid team of 11. Between our two delivery vehicles and the Tool Hire side of the business, there’s always a lot moving.

• Lead the floor: Keep the team motivated and make sure the service at the counter is spot on.

• Grow the business: You’ll be key to spotting new sales leads and keeping our regulars happy.

• Keep it running: From stock accuracy to health and safety, you’ll make sure the branch is sharp, safe, and organised.

What we’re looking for:

We aren't hung up on whether you’ve been an Assistant Branch Manager before. If you’ve got the experience in a builders' merchant and you know how to sell, that’s what matters most to us.

• Trade Knowledge: You know your timber from your lintels and understand how a merchant works.

• Local Connection: It’s a big plus if you know the local area and the tradespeople working in it.

• The Right Attitude: We want someone keen, hungry to prove themselves, and ready to take the next step in their career.
