Job Description

As we continue to build and grow, we have a very exciting opportunity for an Assistant Credit Control Manager to be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of an efficient Credit Services Department, helping to maximise sales growth whilst minimising debtor days, prior column debts and bad debts.  The collection and allocation of cash, management of credit limits for new and existing customers the ability to manage and influence dispute resolution is an essential part of the whole sales order process and is critical in maintaining an efficient cash flow to the Group.
  • This activity must be delivered in line with the Company Credit Policy whilst maintaining a professional but assertive approach at all times
  • To fully understand and report on the key performance measures associated with the role.
  • Support the Credit Control Manager with the integration of new processes/business in line with change plans, whilst proactively working with contacts throughout the business in order  to ensure successful implementation.
  • Manage the team through timely performance and development reviews to  identify any training and development opportunities to manage talent within the team.
  • Act as an advisory and escalation point both  internally and externally to ensure all credit control issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that credit staff carry out their daily duties in accordance with Group Credit Policy encouraging a high level of motivation to ensure an effective service is delivered,  escalate, where appropriate, accounts deemed to be of high risk or concern
  • Make the decision on all credit requests for credit limits up to £400K ensuring that all due diligence has been carried out and that  supporting documentation obtained in accordance with company policy,  escalated whereby further support is needed.
  • Assist the Credit Manager to ensure the allocation of work across the department is distributed evenly and the team are supported to achieve business objectives.
  • Own the collection performance and reporting against prior debt for onward review by the Credit Manager, working closely with them to decide on the most appropriate course of action to resolve issues
