Job Description

Are you a Credit Controller with experience of supervisory or team leader experience? Do you have excellent communication skills and able to work on your own initiative?

As a result of the relocation of our Credit Control team, we have an opportunity to recruit a Credit Control team leader to join the Primaflow team based in Birmingham. 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and fast paced credit control team. You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of an efficient credit control department, maximising sales growth whilst minimising debtor days, overdue debts and bad debts. You’ll also lead a team of 8 individuals, so having experience of managing a team is essential. 

Key Responsibilities for this role include: 
  • Responsible for assessing risk of customer accounts by monitoring credit requests, reviewing terms of accounts and signing off credit limits up to a set amount 
  • To ensure accounts requiring legal action are reviewed and where possible identify alternative methods of collection other than solicitors, ensuring accounts are free of queries that may hinder legal recovery. Review accounts to be taken back from Legal Department to the Ledger. 
  • To ensure that all credit violations are dealt with appropriately 
  • Be the first point of contact for the customer complaint escalation process
  • Responsible for tracking outstanding debt of key customers and identifying any adverse movement requiring investigation and remedial action 
  • Responsible for distributing workload to ensure there is continuous and effective support to the branch network and customers and achievement of team KPIs and DSO targets. This is to include deputising in the absence of the Credit Manager
  • Responsible for colleague cycle including recruitment, on-boarding, training, monitoring performance, setting objectives and the ongoing development of the team. This a key role in driving the motivation of the team to ensure recoveries are achieved 
  • Be the first point of contact for all colleague related queries including absence management, holiday requests 
To be considered for this opportunity, you’ll need:
  • Experience of leading a credit control team.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able organise and plan your workload.
  • Able to prioritise and work on own initiative
