Executive Assistant - Maternity Cover - 12 Months - Start ASAP

The Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief HR Officer is a key and pivotal role within the CEO and HR office. Responsibility for the day to day management and administration of the CEO and CHRO forms part of this role, however the focus to add value with a high degree of proactivity and an ‘analytical’ mindset makes this a ‘stand out’ and unique opportunity.

A varied role encompassing broader activities will require critical thinking and progressive utilisation of technology. Working closely with the CEO, CHRO, Group Leadership Team and HR Leadership Team on all aspects of running the company, developing close relationships with the senior team and colleagues at all levels of the organisation provides opportunity for both career and personal development.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Providing support to the CEO & CHRO and in partnership with the GLT responsible for the day to day management of the CEO & HR office, ensuring that the accessibility and availability of the CEO & CHRO to colleagues is maintained.

  • Working collaboratively across the Group Leadership Team and liaison with a broad range of stakeholders including financial advisors, suppliers, and a close working relationship with IR/Corporate Communications and the external PR agency.

Working daily with the CEO & CHRO on all aspects of their role, diary management, external and internal engagements, communications, presentations, interactions with the Board as well as customers, suppliers and partners.

  • Collating and preparing data, programme and performance summaries and dashboards, competitor, customer and market data and news for the CEO and wider GLT, maintaining the regular operational cadence of the business.

  • Actively involved in strategic initiatives important for company culture and company success.

  • Working closely with the CEO and CHRO and undertaking assignments which are highly confidential, sensitive and require skill and discretion.

  • Project management, event planning and internal communications including liaison to the Non Executive Directors alongside managing Board and Shareholder activities.

  • The location of the role is flexible with the opportunity for home working. There will be the requirement to travel to Northampton one or two days a week and London when the role requires.

Person Specification

Previous experience as an Executive Assistant would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite. There are a set of transferable skills that will be essential for success which could have been gained from previous experience in a broad range of functional, commercial or sales and operational roles.

  • Discretion and Trust

  • Communication

  • Analytical Skills

  • Organisation and Prioritisation

  • Emotional intelligence

  • Speed and decisiveness
