At Travis Perkins plc, our people are behind everything we do. Across our family of businesses, thousands of colleagues keep the UK building every day. We're now looking for a HR Talent, Culture and Engagement Partner (12 Month FTC) to help make the Group an even better place to work and to make sure our people strategy delivers real commercial value.

This is a high-profile, group-wide role reporting directly to our Chief HR Officer. You'll sit at the centre of our HR function, bringing structure, insight and fresh thinking to the projects that matter most, from our HR roadmap and engagement strategy to talent, leadership and large-scale change.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the development and delivery of our Group HR Roadmap and Strategy, running planning cycles, tracking progress and managing risks, decisions and dependencies with the HR Leadership Team.

  • Driving organisational effectiveness by simplifying how we work, removing barriers to delivery and acting as the central control point for large-scale organisational design activity alongside our HR Business Partners.

  • Owning our Group-wide listening and engagement strategy, including our annual engagement survey, so the voice of our colleagues directly helps to shape our priorities.

  • Championing high performance through our performance framework, embedding inclusive leadership and making sure onboarding sets every new leader up to succeed.

  • Providing PMO support for major people change and transformation programmes, and owning our Group HR ESG standards, benchmarking and measures of success.

  • Bringing together Group talent data and turning it into clear insight, focusing on the "so what" so leaders can make confident, data-led decisions about talent and succession.

  • Bringing new ideas to the table through external research and close relationships with our businesses, leading initiatives that improve what it feels like to work here.

  • Partnering with HR Business Partners and our business units to deliver our Group HR strategy, and managing key third-party relationships to ensure consistency and value.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • A degree in HR, Business or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience in a HR Business Partner, Talent or Organisational Development role.

  • Experience leading or supporting large-scale change or transformation programmes.

  • Excellent project management and PMO skills.

  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to turn numbers into meaningful insight.

  • Confidence to coach, influence and challenge senior stakeholders.

  • A commercial, analytical mindset.

  • A sound understanding of UK employment law and ER practice, plus a solid grounding in OD, talent management and performance management.

  • Resilience, adaptability and comfort working through ambiguity.

  • A collaborative style and the energy and curiosity to keep improving how things are done.

Why join us

This is a rare chance to influence the people strategy of a major UK business, with direct exposure to our Chief HR Officer and HR Leadership Team. You'll have the scope to bring your own ideas, see your work make a visible difference to colleagues across the Group, and grow your career within a business that has been building its people for generations.
