Job Description

Wickes are a digitally led, service enabled organisation with a project in every home.


Role Purpose:

The role holder will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the fixed assets register

and property portfolio costs


Key Accountabilities:


  • Performing all the required tasks involved around fixed assets and property month end, ensuring that all reconciliations and journal postings for asset additions, disposals, depreciation, rent, rates, etc are done on a timely basis

  • Maintaining fully reconciled fixed assets and property balance sheets, including between the various asset & property systems and the nominal ledger

  • Assist in improving the financial control and reporting environment for Property, Plant & Equipment

  • Review capital expenditure requests and invoices in line with CapEx policies and approval hierarchy

  • Provide information and insight to stakeholders (internal & external) as and when required

  • Assist in the loading of data for IFRS 16 and updating the lease register

  • Other ad hoc reporting duties as required


What are we looking for?


  • Part qualified ACCA or a equivalent accounting qualification

  • Experience maintaining a fixed asset register

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Knowledge of IAS 16 - Property, Plant & Equipment

  • Knowledge of IFRS 16 - Leases

  • Well organised with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to communicate at all levels

  • Team player
