Senior Category Manager
What you'll do
Hybrid/remote working with some travel to Bridgwater and Northampton as well as elsewhere to visit customers and suppliers.

This role is at the forefront of our success, relentlessly identifying and implementing product, price, and promotional opportunities within our Trade Category team.
You will lead a customer-focused commercial category team with end-to-end P&L responsibility and a laser focus on Trade customers. You will engage the team to drive convenience, service, range, availability, and value while delivering a best-in-market customer experience. Success requires cross-functional collaboration with marketing, digital, supply chain, and retail to create a compelling customer proposition.

Leadership and Development: Directly manage a team, providing mentorship, coaching, and expertise to foster a culture of continuous development, improvement, and innovation.

Customer Journey Mapping: Identify clear customer journeys across all channels, understanding customer needs, and developing range, promotional, and campaign plans to build market share.

Market Insight: Utilise a data-driven, analytical approach to provide market insight and conduct competitor analysis, ensuring we remain competitive on price and customer experience.

Stakeholder Management: Maintain continuous engagement with suppliers and internal stakeholders
What you'll bring

Commercial Retail Experience: Proven track record in a fast-paced, growth retailer. Experience in our sector is a benefit but not essential.

P&L Accountability: Full accountability for P&L and margin achievement, including conducting financial analysis, reviewing promotional activity across all trade categories, and managing product ranges to optimise profitability.

Analytical and Data Enabled: Ability to develop a conceptual understanding of data to underpin decision-making, identify risks, and catch opportunities and issues with brilliant attention to detail.

Influential Communication: An engaging style with the gravitas to build brilliant partnerships and earn the respect and trust of your team.
