Cash & Banking Analyst

We are thrilled to be recruiting for a Cash & Banking Analyst to join our Finance team in Head Office.

Role Purpose:

To become an important part of the Cash & Banking team and help provide support to store managers, design consultants and other stakeholders within the Wickes business.

Key Accountabilities:

• Looking after the day to day postings of store sales and banking data into the Finance system (Day ticking),making sure all data is processed and chasing stores who need to complete their banking on time.

• Work alongside another Cash & Banking (C&B) colleague to keep our customer finance agreements as up to date as possible. Investigate any finance agreements that are due to expire or have expired and help resolve issues with store managers and design consultants and call for any payments manually.

• Weekly reporting of stores bad debt and petty cash, this will give stores the time to correct any issues before the month end close.

• Helping with the Wickes Sales Ledger accounts, processing payments received to the correct account.

• Responsible for looking after the cash book - Wixpal (Paypal) - keeping this up to date and making sure all issues are dealt with within a timely manner.

• Responsible for looking after the cash book - Wamex (American Express) - keeping this up to date and making sure all issues are dealt with within a timely manner.

• Help with Bank statement uploads as per the C&B team rota and with other adhoc tasks and provide cover for other team members if needed

What are we looking for?

• Potential desire to study an accounting qualification

• Proven working experience in finance departments

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office

• High degree of accuracy

• An understanding or debits and credit 

• Problem solving skills

• Good attention to detail

• Team player/happy to help attitude
