Do you want to support the business in driving the Group Data Strategy within Travis Perkins? Work collaboratively with teams across the business to manage their datasets and ensure that they have the skills required in their team to use the data to its full potential for driving value and decision making.
If this sounds like you, you should know we are looking for a Data and BI Lead to join our team.
This is a remote / home based role with occasional travel to our Hub Head Office in Northampton for meetings and collaborations.
What you’ll do
As the Data and BI Lead you will be the go-to person in finance for more advanced reporting requirements, technical expertise and data queries. You will create and design reports depending on what the stakeholder requires for their business area. Leading a team of two supporting their development and being an escalation point if anything was to arise.
Some accountabilities of the role:
Help with group data strategy including the roll out of the new Google Looker reporting tool. Work with teams from around the business to build and manage datasets and definitions.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders so you can understand their requirements.
Head up the “Data Champions” network with regular events to drive collaboration and sharing of best practice across functions - driving data literacy throughout the business.
Proactively identify new internal and external data sources. Engage with the business to understand current & emerging data requirements.
Ensure that data is managed and accessed in the correct manner across the business and work with teams to make sure their needs are met in an appropriate way.
Is this you?
We are looking for someone that has a degree level or equivalent in data or computer science. It is essential that you have working experience with SQL as this is the main system used from a technical point. Are you someone that can storytell on Data? It is important that you can translate BI technical speak into usable language for users across the business.
You will be a strong communicator that can influence at all levels, Self motivated, possessing the ability to encourage and motivate colleagues with a collaborative approach.
