Our Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is looking for a Service and Support Technician to join the GSOC team. If you have great attention to detail, a professional telephone manner and great administrative skills then we would love to hear from you!

Who we are:

Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is an in-house security operations centre that operates in real time and is manned around the clock, 365 days a year. The GSOC team is divided into two areas. Reactive Operations, which are charged with monitoring and responding to alarms from security systems (such as CCTV, intruder alarms, personal attack alarms and security fog) installed in branches, head office buildings and distribution centres across the estate.

Technical Support carries out remote preventative and reactive maintenance of these security systems and their associated networks. In total, The GSOC consists of 31 colleagues, headed up by a GSOC Manager and supported by an Assistant Manager, Supervisors, Operators and Technicians.

What will you do? 

As a GSOC Service & Support Technician

This role provides combined operator and technical service handling of complex queries, acting as a relief shift supervisor once trained, covering holiday and other absence (24/7, 365) and ensuring that the majority of front line demands are handled without the need to involve other members of the GSOC. The role exists to provide capacity for relief supervisor cover and manages what would otherwise be an increased workload for the Shift Supervisor and Technical Team thus reducing the time taken to deal with reactionary queries.

To provide detailed technical assistance to every branch/store relating to on site intruder alarm and CCTV equipment to ensure all security systems protecting the estate are working to their optimum capacity

Use daily management information to identify any branch or store presenting increased alarm activity and reduce these by proactively liaising with branch managers, field investigators and engineers. Thus reducing response times during out of hours monitoring and allowing the GSOC to better protect TP people, property and profits

Joining a dedicated team of 31, you’ll act as the primary point of contact for our sites, providing exceptional customer service with regards to enquiries, data requests and scheduled security tasks including liaising with our 3rd party suppliers. You’ll then work with our branches to ensure all alarm activations are handled in line with process, liaise with third parties including installation engineers, regional security advisors and Police in order to ensure a smooth delivery of service from the Monitoring Station. Along with this, you will utilise your excellent time management and organisational skills on a daily basis, as you will record all alarm and CCTV investigations by completing our internal documentation and ensuring we maintain accurate records.

Previous experience in the security industry is not required, but excellent customer service, clear and effective communication skills, and experience with using word processors and spreadsheets is desirable.
