What will you do? Test and Configuration Analyst
Primarily take the responsibility for ensuring that all client related hardware and software is fully and professionally tested meeting business standards and compliance before being released into the live environment. This implies full end to end life cycle management and supporting all business goals in delivery, road maps, security and compliance.
Main accountabilities of the role:
Team members must be able to understand and perform software packaging functions using the existing tools (SCCM Current Branch), and then demonstrate and follow best practice for managing all software, drivers and respective packages accordingly. For example, version control, storage and all supporting documentation including transition and Early Life support.
Team members must be able to undertake and perform testing of all software and hardware whilst managing each test scenario or case respectively to completion. This entails following best practice, documentation control, environment control, professionalism and contributory to continual improvement of processes and practice. All test environments must be maintained and managed to reflect accurate testing to ensure confidence prior to release.
Familiar and conscious of critical disciplines involved when releasing software into a live environment using the business tools provided - SCCM Current Branch. Ensures our releases are informed, calculated, planned and communicated from start to end. Includes documentation defining the release and acceptance criteria around user acceptance of advertised packaged software.
A mature and professional approach to creating, following and contributing to organisational Policies and Procedures with a good understanding of the benefits of such practice and promoting accordingly such as Release Management, Early life support, Transition into support and the official Business Change Procedures.
Undertaking of an acceptable level of communications and reporting where required of relevant activity to appropriate audiences. Extracting and analysing data from toolsets for comparison and analysis in order to aid and assist with deployments, planning and status reporting. Also to identify and report trends, status and client issues, or problems.
Ensuring the life cycle is maintained across the group for all products and reflected in all relevant areas including the organisations catalogues accordingly. This entails a full understanding of the product life cycle process and key tasks essential to the success of this process.
Members will be a point of contact for all non standard and exceptional issues or requests where assistance is required to perform analysis, testing or research in order to deliver Service and or Business continuity. For example, assisting with, and owning Problem Tickets, escalated incidents, assisting with Proof of Concepts and new ideas brought to the team by other business areas and teams.
Members must be Service orientated and familiar with SLA’s/OLA’s and project requirements in order to support service teams and colleagues. Additionally, able to help identify opportunities for Service Improvements and any enhancements for the colleague experience with client related technology. Team members must therefore also be able to identify and prioritise accordingly whilst maintaining a reasonable and achievable monthly activity plan that does not compromise the teams wellbeing and safety. A good understanding and working engagement with Project Management with the ability to work professionally and courteously whilst keeping realistic and professional.
