Toolstation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Delivery Manager to join our Technology - Projects & Portfolio team. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of software, working closely with Agile development teams and various stakeholders.

 

About the Role:

 

As a Delivery Manager, you will act as a subject matter expert for your product and a key member of the delivery team. Your responsibilities will include keeping products organised, ensuring smooth operations, and keeping all parties informed of project progress. You will manage a team of Scrum Masters/Technical Product Owners, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our software delivery processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for successful software delivery, from service to all change activities.

  • Manage stakeholders across the business, Technology & Digital department, and third parties.

  • Ensure software delivery aligns with technology objectives for service and security.

  • Provide leadership within the Software Delivery team and deputise for the Head of Software Delivery when required.

  • Manage relationships with third-party partners, ensuring alignment with standard ways of working.

  • Identify and execute areas for improvement and efficiencies using key performance indicators.

  • Contribute to the management of the Delivery Management sub-profession.

  • Drive value and change at pace in a fast-paced environment.



What you'll bring

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree level education in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Proven experience in setting up and adhering to agile software delivery processes.

  • Track record of delivering results and adapting to changes.

  • Experience managing stakeholders and delivering quality software solutions.

  • Strong people management and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies, Agile development, and DevOps pipelines.

Preferred:

  • Previous hands-on experience in Software Engineering.

  • Experience in line management of multi-skilled technologists.
