The Role: Finance Systems Manager - 9 month contract 
We are currently recruiting for this newly created role to lead and influence both business reporting and the transition from a Business Objects database environment to a ‘Data-Lake’ environment.

Key Accountabilities: Finance Systems Manager

  • Deliver daily, weekly and monthly reporting to the business
  • Lead and influence the transition of the business from a Business Objects database landscape to a ‘Data-lake’ environment.  Work closely with the IT team and the finance team to ensure a smooth transition from current reporting process (including parallel-running) to a new data-lake led reporting process
  • Ensure data integrity and ‘one-version of the truth’ for KPIs used across the business, by working closely with IT and finance teams to understand the underlying data and its sources
  • Support the ‘governance’ structure of the data included in the data-lake, in terms of integrity, relevance and access.   Active role sitting on the governance committee.
  • Lead and support testing of the new reporting environment and co-ordinate support across finance and other areas of the business.
  • Finance Business Partner to the Business Intelligence IT team
  • Champion the use and understanding of the new ‘data-lake’ reporting across the finance team and develop opportunities to improve reporting by fully-utilising the capabilities of the new ‘data-lake’ environment.
  • Leadership and development of business analyst.

Skills & Experience: Finance Systems Manager
  • Degree level educated in a science or maths-based subject
  • Strong numerical and systems background
  • Strong reporting and systems experience
  • Highly numerate and able to reconcile numbers to multiple systems
  • Well developed analytical capability with ability to understand/leverage both detail and big picture
  • Ability to strongly influence and challenge in a constructive / engaging manner 
  • Team leadership and development
  • Strong experience of data hierarchies and data management
  • Good knowledge of systems and reporting automation, particularly ‘Data-Lake’ environments and Business Objects / Intelligence environments
