The role we're recruiting for;

The role of Web Merchandiser will lead all onsite merchandising commercial decisions inline with the Wickes Trading plan, with the objective of driving commercial success through decision making, by delivering best in class website experience and ensuring we have the most relevant website through onsite personalisation tools.

The successful candidate will also plan and lead the product range offers and promotions in collaboration with commercial and price planning teams and ensure the entire business is coordinated and aligned behind the online trading priorities


Principle Accountabilities

  • Own and deliver the digital merchandising and site experience vision, including surfacing and prioritising product presentation, web site usability, and cross-device improvements to drive increases in sales, conversion rates, AOV and margin

  • Drive onsite promotion planning, web exclusive deals and extended range that complement the offering and ensure sales budgets are exceeded


  • Responsible for delivering a digital merchandising calendar, including on-site and coordinating with traffic driving marketing activities such as email, search/SEO, social media, and other digital marketing channels.

  • Own elements of Group Data Management to ensure best in class website experience for our customers  

  • Overall responsibility with Customer Experience and Brand Marketing functions to ensure consistency in messaging across channels.

  • Own and be responsible for merchandising features such as Brand pages and interactive merchandising landing pages.

  • Develop and deliver merchandising programs that assist in customer understanding of the product range and benefits that drive conversion and AOV’s.

  • Own and create action plans from site usage and campaign performance, including but not limited to category performance, quality of search, and promotional/event performance; develop and explore new analytics to further understand site performance and usage.


What are we looking for?

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong commercial acumen and financial competence

  • Proven influencing skills across all levels of business (including board level)

  • Exceptional collaboration skills. Bringing together cross functional groups of people

  • Experience using Google Analytics (or similar web analytics) to identify trends and take appropriate actions

  • An understanding of SEO, and the impact of actions on search visibility

  • Website analytics platforms and digital marketing best practices
