What you'll do

As an IT Support Senior Engineer at Toolstation, you'll play a vital role in delivering hardware, software, and IT solutions to our diverse user base, including offices, Distribution Centres, and retail environments. Your mission is to keep our technology running smoothly. You'll work closely with IT suppliers to ensure services are maintained and restored promptly. This role is full of variety, where each day presents unique challenges. From configuring and deploying equipment to diagnosing and fixing issues, you'll be at the heart of our IT operations.


Day-to-Day

Problem solving. You'll be the troubleshooter, finding and fixing software, hardware, and IT system problems for our users, whether it's something in-house or supplied externally.

Analysis. Dig into the root causes of issues, figure out the best solutions, and work on implementing fixes to make everything work more efficiently.

Escalation. You'll be the go-to person for the IT Support Engineering team when things get tricky. Your expertise will be valued by your team

Relationship building. Develop positive relationships with external suppliers, collaborating on both ongoing and new projects.

Produce and manage reporting. Including data and statistics to facilitate effective service monitoring and performance.

Expertise. Become the go-to authority on certain services, software, or hardware – maybe even all three!

Customer focused. You'll be the friendly face of IT, assisting users with incidents, problems, and requests. Your goal is excellent customer service, making sure everyone gets the help they need, when they need it.




What you'll bring


Experience - You’ll have previous experience in an IT Support role and love to support your customers to reach the desired outcome.

Technical Skills - You’ll know all about Google and Microsoft consumer and business productivity tools. You’ll be confident in supporting and selecting computer hardware, various vendor OS including Google Chrome OS, Microsoft Windows, Apple MacOS. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - You'll have the ability to address complex technical challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - You'll be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Demonstrated leadership qualities - You have an ability to inspire and guide junior team members.
