Management could mean many different things. You could be responsible for operational or project responsibilities or may have responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. Our best Team Leaders are able to provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. This programme will help you build the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours to take on your first line management position.

Building Knowledge
This part of your programme is all about learning the theory. Through online learning, research or through workplace observations and visits you will;
  • Understand the role of a Team Manager and how to be a great role model
  • Understand your business and the practical application of your product range
  • Understand the profit and loss report and how to increase profit

Trying it out
Once you’ve learned the theory, you will go on to experience the learning, either in a workshop or by trying it out in your place of work. You’ll start to build confidence in your new skills and knowledge by;
  • Having difficult conversations to challenge behaviours
  • Developing good commercial relationships with loyal customers
  • Improving sales and customer service through your team
  • Keeping your team safe
Adding Value
Here’s where you start carrying out activities that will add value to your place of work and have an impact on either profilitability or your team. Typical activities in this part of your programme will include;
  • Managing projects and coping with change
  • Maximising stock availability to drive product performance
  • Using Management Information to make good decisions
  • Recruiting, managing and developing a high performing team
