Apprentice Public Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineer

What will you do? Apprentice Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineer

As an Apprentice Platform Engineer, you will be assisting with designing, building, maintaining and supporting high quality automated platforms and pipelines using the latest cloud technologies and automation tooling.  You will follow good design practices, standards and approaches to create scalable, reusable platforms via code. 

Some accountabilities of the role: 

• Assist with implementing quality automated  platforms – use automation tooling to provision and configure infrastructure as code, producing repeatable patterns that can be reused to build out scalable environments and pipelines

• Support continuous delivery pipelines and release mechanisms used by the development teams and provide assistance to other engineers to proactively improve these platforms and environments

• Work alongside the Lead Platform Engineers, for the development and management of a catalogue of tools, standards and patterns that support our use of our public cloud platforms.

• The apprentice engineer is will assist in supporting of continuous integration pipelines and their environment platforms from development through to production

• Using the latest tooling, support implementation of logging, monitoring, alerting, patching and maintenance on the platforms from development all the way through to production

• Assist with maintaining high security standards for all cloud based platforms

• Willing to learn from other members of the team to develop and build skills and confidence within the team 

• Be available to support backup, recovery, DR of platform services within predefined and agreed SLAs with our customers
