Looking for a new challenge, maybe a new industry, do you have exceptional Customer Service experience along with Sales and some Supervisory experience, then look no further, we have a great management role for you.  We are looking for an Assistant Branch Manager in our Crawley branch of Benchmarx.


The Crawley branch is a standalone branch on Inter Dist Cent, Unit 2 Gatwick Road, Crawley RH10 9RX, they have a great team of 5 experienced colleagues and one delivery vehicle, this is a busy branch of around Trade & Retail customers a day, most we know on a first name basis. We have an excellent experienced Branch Manager that has created a nice family feel to the team, that work together as one, that have fun and keep it professional.

We are planning long term, so we are looking for future Branch Managers, so if you are willing to learn every aspect of branch life, are hard working and ambitious, we would love to hear from you.

Hours - We are open Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5pm and Saturdays 8am -12pm, you don't have to work every Saturday, our colleagues do 2 in 4.

What will I be doing?
No one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, and now that you have had a great onboarding and induction, here are a few pointers: 
  • Stay Safe - Set the tone and champion a Stay Safe culture within our branch, ensuring that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and that staff are aware of their specific responsibilities.
  • Ensure that regulations relating to vehicles within the scope of the goods vehicles licensing of operators act are adhered to.
  • Operations - With your learned knowledge of the products and services we offer, you will be a pivotal contact for our customers, nurturing great relationships, understanding their needs in order to offer expert advice and recommending alternatives to meet their individual needs and maximise the sale of goods.
  • Ensure all transport-related risk assessments, training records, driver licences and other Health and Safety documentation is checked periodically.  Follow up action as necessary.
  • Compliance - Including auditing, KPI counts, goods in and goods out, dealing with our suppliers
  • People - Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help coach a team to deliver the highest standards of service.
  • Working alongside the Branch Manager, you will lead and coach our colleagues, taking accountability for the success within the branch overall.
What experience do you need?
It would be advantageous to come from our sector, but its really not essential, we really don’t mind what sector you come from, we just want your transferable skills, supervisory, exceptional sales and  customer service.
