Job Description

Do you have B2B buying experience? Do you thrive in a commercial environment and enjoy negotiating with suppliers? Do you have great attention to detail, an ability to multi task and enjoy problem solving? If so, we want to hear from you!

We, at Keyline, have an opportunity for you to join us as an Assistant Category Manager. Within this varied and fast paced role, you will be supporting the achievement of the business, product and market objectives, through supplier and product management and you will also be responsible for the development and delivery of category plans. If you are wanting to develop your current buying experience within a role that makes a difference, then we feel this role is for you as you will be ensuring we maximise the growth of sales and gross profit.

It is an exciting opportunity encompassing all areas of our commercial operation, and a great development role towards progressing into category management.

What you’ll do
  • Manage, measure and develop supplier relationships and performance against targets and in line with Group, business unit and department strategy
  • Achievement of sales, profit, inflation and KPIs within cost budgets
  • Manage and maintain product files and data relating to suppliers and product category
  • Support sales teams and branches to optimise profitable trading and assist/support day to day pricing and supplier management
  • Invoice price checking, and resolution of aged debt queries and supplier rebate queries
  • Support product category plan reviews and contribute to associated marketing activity
  • Support and conduct the negotiation of national supplier terms for business unit 

Is this you?
You'll need to be great with numbers, sharp with data and looking to utilise your buying/category experience. As a part of a hard working, dedicated team you will need the confidence to build relationships, utilise your strong communication skills to deal with negotiations, be prepared to work at pace, and most of all not be afraid to get stuck in!
