Bid Manager
We have an opportunity for a Bid Manager to be based at the Lakeside House office in Northampton. Reporting into the Bid & Marketing Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the Travis Perkins commercial strategy for any of the Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) bids for new TP Managed Services opportunities and re-tenders. You will also be responsible for ensuring correct commercial decisions are made regarding supply only tenders, multi brand involvement and re-tender strategies.
The role is office based with the occasional need to visit and attend company meetings off-site as required.
Accountabilities Include:
Decide the commercial strategy for any TPMS bid
Ensure full legal and corporate governance compliance of bids
Develop bid strategies for TP Managed Services tenders to include both new & re-tenders.
Total responsibility for ensuring full completion of all tenders to be returned
Responsibility for development and presentation of the TPMS value proposition
Develop and utilise strong working relationships with wider TP business and coordinate all stakeholder information to ensure a consistent and collaborate tender approach
Ensure collation of re-tender information for use with tenders which will involve ensuring data collection from existing customers, account managers and operations.
Research and understand TPMS core market - social housing, political influences, and competitor strategies, in order to develop winning qualitative bids through a higher level of understanding.
Develop the skills and professionalism of the Bid Team, encouraging continual innovation and best practice.
What we are looking for:
Ideally, you will need to have proven and demonstrable experience of writing or managing bid submissions through the design and production stages. As this role comes with line management responsibility, it would also be great if you have previous experience of managing a team. You will also be highly competent in using Excel and Word.
