Business Intelligence - Support Engineer


Here at Travis Perkins we are currently seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to work as part of an End To End Business Intelligence & Analytics Service Support team maintaining, running and supporting high quality working software and solutions that meets the service customers needs.


The role we're recruiting for


Works as part of a multi-skilled engineering and operations team to ensure that support commitments are met and aligned to expectations. Systems are supported and maintained effectively and efficiently.  Ensures the service is delivered in line with quality, design patterns, principles, standards and best practice and meets or exceeds the customer needs.

Uses monitoring and other measures to ensure service availability and stability and proactively seeks to prevent degradation of the service before occurring. Fixes issues and problems promptly and effectively, supporting the wider team to return the service proposition to a functional state in the quickest manner. Documents and shares learnings for future use and reference. 


It would be great if you had...

  • At least 2 years in a formal incident management environment supporting BI applications.
  • ITIL (v3) knowledge and application experience.
  • Microsoft SQL skills specifically the development and support of SSIS packages.
  • Business Objects v4.1 or higher - Universe design or Information Design tool
  • Experience utilising BI dashboard technologies such as Tableau or Qlik.
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools such as SAS and SPSS.
