We have a brand new opportunity for a Buying Manager to join Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery Team!  If you have experience in developing Own Brand product propositions and driving strategic decisions, then we want to talk to you!

What you’ll do

As the Buying Manager you will be the owner of all Benchmarx (BMX) commercial relationships for the kitchen and joinery supply base. You will be the decision maker on where business is placed and on what terms. You will also be responsible for leading improvements programmes and for driving efficiencies to enhance our margin and sales. There will also be responsibility of leading a team of three people where you will support their development but also coach and mentor when required. 

Along with the above you will: 

- Develop and deliver a BMX Buying Strategy.
- Working alongside the Head of Product, plan and build a customer driven range.  
- Own the BMX supplier Contracts. 
- Working with the Head of Technical ensure our brand standards for quality and value are maintained. 
- Responsible for pricing and promotional activity 
- Deliver the BMX Commercial Trading strategy through pricing and the thorough understanding of the BMX cost to serve model, identifying subsequent margin opportunities.

Is this you?

You will ideally have experience within a similar role as a Buying manager or Senior Buyer. You will have experience in developing your own brand product propositions and driving strategic supplier relationships. Due to the nature of the role you need to be highly numerate, can influence, show a strong communication style and can network well. Demonstrable negotiation skills combined with a commercial acumen and proven track record in developing and executing sourcing strategies is a must. 

As a person you will be driven, show enthusiasm and have a strong moral /ethical background. You will be a leader of three team members so it will be important to keep their morale high and be that point of contact for them.
