Category Assistant

The Role:

As a Buying / Category Assistant at City Plumbing, you will play a vital role in being the first point of contact for our branches and suppliers, supporting our Buyers/Category Managers in driving profitable sales growth.

This means you’ll focus on:

• Using your great communication skills to ensure requests and queries from our Branches are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

• Ensuring accurate data is provided to help us understand the trading performance of our categories and customers.

• Being a great team player to work effectively with internal stakeholders to help deliver across different commercial projects.

• Accurate setup and maintenance of product details, images and prices making them customer-friendly for your category.

• Meeting deadlines agreed with your Buyer/Category Manager

This full-time opportunity offers true flexibility to work, with a hybrid approach of home or office-based working depending on the needs of the successful candidate and the business.

This means you could be based in Corby, Coventry, Hinkley, Kettering, Leamington Spa, Leicester, Loughborough, Lutterworth, Market Harborough, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Northampton, Nuneaton, Oundle, Peterborough, Rugby, Rushden, Tamworth, Wellingborough, as well as Crick itself.

You:

Previous experience isn’t essential, what is essential is that you’ll live and breathe our Customer First ethos, and be able to balance multiple tasks at any one time. 

You’ll also enjoy working collaboratively and be great with numbers and data. You’ll have the confidence to build relationships across our business, from helping our branches to working with our digital and marketing teams.  You’ll be committed to helping ensure that we remain the best Plumbing & Heating Merchant in the UK!

It is highly likely you will have an interest to start a career within any of the following roles and/or markets: Buying, Procurement, Category, Commercial, Negotiation, Procurement, Building, Construction, Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, Mechanical.
