Commercial Category Manager - Keyline

We have an exciting and varied opportunity for you to join our Commercial Team as a Category Manager based in Swan-Valley, Northampton. If you are looking for a role that will add real impact across the business, then we want to hear from you!

You will be supporting the Category Director by taking ownership and driving the development of a core product category as well as developing and implementing key business projects that will help to shape Keyline’s growth in the building distribution market. As a Category Manager, your main focus will be on Utilities and Water Treatment, but not limited to:Utilities,Linear drainage, Environmental and Hire.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Proposing; defining and implementing the product category strategies for the Keyline commercial function, including the specific areas of ranging, brand proposition, supplier selection, pricing, trading margin and route to market.

• Establishing effective working relationships with the Keyline Regional Directors, Regional Operations Managers and Sales teams to be able to successfully influence the commerciality of the business

• Conduct annual and ad hoc negotiations with the key suppliers base

• Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders including operations, direct sourcing, quality assurance, supply chain, marketing, finance, legal, sustainability and purchase ledger both within Keyline and the wider Travis Perkins Group

• Developing the customer proposition by driving innovation and new products into the business to target the needs of the Keyline customer segments

• Supporting the day to day commercial requirements across the Keyline branch network

• Collaborating with the relevant Divisional buying team to maximise group scale

We are looking for someone that has proven category management experience together with a passion for driving improvement. You will be highly numerate, have influencing and negotiating skills as well as being able to demonstrate your enthusiasm and ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
