We are looking to recruit a Data Steward that will execute data changes through ongoing analysis, recommendations from Data Governance or business requests whilst ensuring a professional and robust service.
They will also assist with a number of data elements on behalf of Group Data Management throughout a planned business implementation. They will also maintain data quality initiatives, rules and procedures.
The role we’re recruiting for
The Data Steward will demonstrate the ability to work in a timely and efficient manner whilst supporting the reputation of the Department as a Centre of Excellence delivering changes accurately and efficiently. They will work closely with IT development and engineering teams to help deliver functionality to support the day to day operations of Group Data Management
The update and maintenance of product information and other commercial data accurately and on time, as required and authorised by the Procurement Teams.
To operate within the department procedures for the logging, checking and authorisation of updates to help ensure the highest level of accuracy possible.
To highlight areas of potential error and raise queries where information provided may be inaccurate.
To enhance the reputation of the department for quality and high level of service, both to the procurement teams and the branches.
To help ensure that product data is set up and maintained consistently both across and within brands.
Understand the implications of proposed changes and request further validation prior to action.
Build a knowledge of branch operational process to better understand the impact of changes made to product data within the function.
To consider opportunities for enhanced efficiency and engage with the Commercial team in conjunction with the Team Leader to deliver maximum benefit for the business.
To build a close working relationship with the Product Managers, Buying Manager and Heads of Department in order to encourage greater adherence to process and be receptive to change where appropriate.
It would be great if you had…
Worked within an administrative environment.
Experience of working in a pressured environment.
Competent in use of Microsoft Excel & Word.
Understanding of EPOS systems.
Commercially aware.
Awareness of impact on sales & profitability from poor product and supplier data.
