Are you a self motivated team player with the ability to multitask whilst meeting tight deadlines? Here at Travis Perkins we’re urgently looking for an Desktop application analyst to join us permanently here in Northampton. You’ll also play an instrumental role in our upcoming Windows 10 project!

What you'll do…

As our Desktop application analyst, you’ll be responsible for making a positive difference and contributing to the development of the Service Control, responsible for the quality and version control of all Client Desktop applications in line with customer requirements. Responsible for ensuring processes and standards are followed and throughput of work is maintained.

- Ensuring that testing, UAT and OS compliance are completed for all applications prior to release and supporting the overall release management process.
- Assisting with the software discovery of each application ensuring the capture and retention of associated documentation / licence entitlement and version identification is maintained within a Master Application List.
- Working with clients to facilitate UAT testing to support ongoing OS updates, ensuring sign off and all outstanding issues are documented / reported and resolved.
- Identifying and facilitating SW version upgrades and releases throughout the SW Asset lifecycle.
- Supporting and managing a SW packaging service ensuring that all applications meet with the current packaging standards and are retired and updated appropriately so that the most current version of each application is always available.

Is this you? 

You will have experience of migrating applications from MS Windows 7 to MS Windows 10, SCCM packaging, testing, deployment and general application management. You will be able to demonstrate extensive MSI and App-V format experience and the use of PowerShell, VB Scripting, MSI and InstallShield. It is also important that you have experience of Active Directory, Registry issues and Windows File Protection.
