The successful candidate will ideally have:

●      Previous experience in a similar role

●      Industry knowledge of civils and drainage products

●      Proven ability to manage a number of large key customers, whilst continuously increasing sales

●      Strong abilities in understanding customer objectives, in order to develop successful strategic plans

●      Can easily identify new sales opportunities and create solutions for customers, by having a keen eye and awareness of key competitor strengths and weaknesses

What you’ll be doing

As an External Sales Account Manager you will look after the sales of civil, drainage and heavy building materials in your sales area. With close involvement with your designated branches, you will operate within your own defined territory, maximising sales at every opportunity and expanding our customer base by identifying and developing new accounts.

No two days are the same within this key customer orientated role, but here are some of the key accountabilities you will be involved in:

●      Build strong understandings of our customer objectives at all levels and create quality trusted relationships with all stakeholders

●      Manage and track projects for large value jobs

●      Ensure sales and margin targets are achieved

●      Engage with and develop joint strategic customer plans with the Travis Perkins team to achieve account objectives and ensure accurate customer sales forecasting

●      Ensure that each customer has an established business development plan in place

●      Take ownership of overall account profitability and growing your ledger

●      Utilise your creative flair by creating solutions for our customers

●      Responsible for marketing insight into our competitors strengths and weaknesses and use this information to engage new sales opportunities
