We have a unique opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join our Central Finance Team and work across not one, but two key finance areas - property and fixed asset. As part of a growing and diverse Finance department, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced Finance professionals who will help guide you in your role. We will provide you with all the tools you need in order to build a career in Finance.
Travis Perkins are a UK leader in the building materials and home improvement markets and we have been recognised as one of Britain’s Top Employers since 2010. With over 2,000 properties, including 400 freeholds our Property Finance Team are responsible for managing and reporting lease, business rate, maintenance and construction costs of circa £450m while our Fixed Asset Finance Team maintain and report on a ledger value of circa £2bn.
Within this role, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality monthly processes across both areas and build strong relationships with our central and divisional finance, property and business stakeholders. On a day-today basis you’ll
ensure the property leasing system, external property database and fixed asset register is kept up to date, liaising with other teams/departments to capture and reflect changes.
assist with the timely and accurate production of month end accounts, including preparing journals for the whole group to strict deadlines.
prepare and complete reconciliations within agreed timescales and to an accurate level, with a view to developing a system of reporting and ensuring any adjustments are made in timely manner.
answer queries from branch and business unit management.
assist in preparing budgets for property costs such as rent, service charges, and rates which will be charged to the branches.
complete capital expenditure cost analysis and monthly capex reporting to business units.
get involved in ad hoc projects as required to meet the needs of the business.
As a minimum, you will need to some experience of working within a dynamic finance function and an interest in studying towards a recognised qualification (if not already doing so). Whilst you will will receive plenty of support, you’ll also need to be proactive, be confident and have excellent communication skills, along with a demonstrable ability to problem solve, work to to tight deadlines and use your initiative.
